*** ALTHOUGH WE HAVE NOW REACHED OUR TARGET, WE ARE STILL GRATEFUL FOR FURTHER DONATIONS, WHICH WILL ENABLE US TO GO BEYOND OUR ORIGINAL PLANS. THANK YOU FOR ANYTHING YOU CAN GIVE***
When our daughter Kathryn (Katy) died 24 hours after her birth, following complications and oxygen deprivation during delivery, we wished to do something positive in her memory. Friends and family have already been very generous in contributing to the two organisations who helped her, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Neonatal Unit at James Cook University Hospital.
However, we would also very much like to create a lasting legacy by donating some equipment to the village playground in Ampleforth, where Katy would have played with her friends. With the help of the Ampleforth Abbey Trust we are aiming to raise in the region of £5000 for this purpose.
In donating to this cause you are helping us to commemorate the life of our much-loved, beautiful and determined little girl. Improvements that we can make to the playground will be Katy’s lasting gift to our local and wider community; they will be her way of giving joy to other children for years to come.
