Amsterdam Marathon · 3 July 2006

Hand in Hand is passionate about giving children born in poverty a hope for the future. Our ultimate aim is for each child's life to be transformed and the cycle of poverty to be broken.

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

A team of 9 of us from Barclays bank have 'volunteered' to undertake the Amsterdam Marathon to raise funds for this very worthy cause. This is a huge challenge requiring exceptional commitment from all concerned. (4 have dropped out through injury!)

The home caters currently for 90+ children. Many of these have suffered physical / sexual abuse. The centre provides a home for the children where they receive the love, care and support that has been lacking in their lives. In 2000 the centre started with 20 children and each day brings a new challenge on the resources at the centre.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The charity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Please note that Barclays match every £ raised so whatever you donate is doubled.

Many thanks for your support.
