Amsterdam Marathon 2023 · 15 October 2023 ·

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

I am running the Amsterdam marathon with my 2 brothers and 4 close friends in October to raise as much money for the Pancreatic Cancer charity.

It was this disease that my grandad lost his battle to when I was very young and therefore would like to raise as much money for the charity  as I can.

I am also running in honour of my older sister, Nikki, who was diagnosed with a stage 4 brain tumour this year, providing further motivation to complete this marathon.

Further info:

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer die within 3 months. Survival rates have improved enormously for most cancers, yet for pancreatic cancer, this is not the case. Pancreatic Cancer UK is dedicated to taking on this injustice using every possible means. They're supporting people with pancreatic cancer now, campaigning, and funding vital research to transform the future. Help them to make the breakthroughs that people with pancreatic cancer so desperately need. Any donations are greatly appreciated!
