Virgin London Marathon 2015 · 26 April 2015 ·

We provide specialist end-of-life care, and a wide range of support services, to over 1,200 people who are living with a life-limiting illness in the Wigan Borough. Many patients are cared for in their own homes, although we also care for people living in care homes and in our In-Patient Unit.

Story

Thankyou for taking the time to visit my Just Giving Page,

i am running the Virgin London Marathon 26th April, to raise charity for Wigan and Leigh Hospice. Also running the Greater Manchester Marathon 19th April and the Windemere Marathon 17th of May.

I am running these events in memory of our loving Grandma Eileen Hayes, who sadly passed on 10th December 2014, aged 66 years. As a family we know what it feels like to watch a close relative suffer from a terminal illness, and the heart ache that comes along with it. The hospice support people just like my Grandma, either in the hospice or across the community in their own homes or care homes. The hospice makes a real difference to the patients life, to their family, and the people around them.

The Wigan and Leigh Hospice provide specialist care, for those who are at the end of their life, to over 1,000 people every year. It is an amazing hospice, that provides a highly reassuring environment, a place of comfort and care, of support and sanctuary during a difficult time.
