Story
During my first semester at Loughborough university, I was
given the opportunity to challenge myself whilst raising money for charity by taking part in a tandem sky dive.
I’ve been meaning to set up my go fund me page for a while now but was struggling with the decision of what charity to use. However, now I have a charity very close to my heart and will be fundraising for the Stroke Association.
Earlier this year my grandma suffered a severe stroke and has been in hospital recovering ever since. My grandma plays a big role in our family, she has the kindest heart and never fails to put a smile on everyone’s face, she is there whenever anyone needs her, she always put everyone above herself and spreads nothing but happiness amongst our family so this incident has been very difficult for both my family and me.
During these hard times, the Stroke Association has been there
to support us, answering all our questions, giving us advice on how to approach the recovery and helping us in all ways possible which is why I feel it is the perfect charity to fundraise for.
The Stroke Association support people who are rebuilding
their lives after suffering strokes. They provide specialist support for both the survivor and their families; they fund critical research and ensure that people rebuilding their lives get the best support and health care possible. This type of work is what my donations would go towards.
The tandem skydive will take place sometime in May 2023 at Langar Airfield in Nottingham and I have a target of £550 to raise by mid-April. Any donations would be appreciated.
I promise I won’t bottle it 😊
