The Great Wall of China Trek · 8 April 2018 to 16 April 2018 ·

Junior Achievement believes in the boundless potential of young people and our aim is to help them to develop skills that will help them to get a job or to start their own business. Each year we need to raise £300,000 to support 5,500 students and 400 volunteers. Please help support our work.

Story

In April 2018 I'll be taking part in Junior Achievement Isle of Man's 'Ultimate Challenge' trek along the Great Wall of China - 5 days of various terrain, distance and altitude over 5 separate parts of the wall.

I'm the kind of person who'd rather take the lift than use the stairs, so the thought of a 5 day trek is a little daunting (and I made the mistake of googling 'how big are the spiders in China' - FYI, don't do it!).

Any donations/sponsorship would be very much appreciated and will go to a great cause.

From Junior Achievement:

Last year Junior Achievement reached an amazing 5,528 students in the Island’s primary and secondary schools. Our wonderful team of volunteers donated more than 1,600 hours to run 414 classes, educating young people about money management, workplace skills and entrepreneurship. By taking the real world into the classroom we can open the pupils’ eyes to potential career opportunities and highlight the skills and knowledge required by employers. It helps the students to make that all important link between education and employment.
