<p>We are raising money for the Meningitis Trust and are running the Bupa 10k on the 27th May!</p> <p>On the 17th March this year, tragically a fellow Birmingham University student Alex Bentley passed away from a form of meningitis. He will be greatly missed and we want to raise money not only in his memory but also to raise awareness of the disease.</p> <p>We believe that there is far too little information about meningitis around universities and aimed at young people, it is not often realised that adolescents are one of the groups at highest risk of the disease. We want to promote awareness at universities in the UK as we believe that although this will not stop the disease, it will allow it to be recognised sooner when it is less fatal and more treatable.</p> <p>For Alex's memory and for the changes we want to make please donate however much you can- even if just some spare change!</p> <p>Thank you so much, who knows next year it may be the marathon!!</p>
