Story

From august 1st I will be running a 5k a day for 90 days for the Children’s Burns Foundation, a charity which I am ambassador for.

I first became involved in the Burns Foundation in 2006 after my Halloween costume caught on fire, leaving me with 3rd degree burns and in need of reconstructive surgery. Since then the foundation has not only changed my life, but also saved my life! They work on research in helping to minimise burn scars, and also offer emotional and physical support to affected children and their families. The burns camp is an annual residential program where the children can meet others who have been through similar experiences, and through this I have gained friends for life and I’ve definitely learned to smile again.

I’ve put £850 as a target as this is the cost of sending one child to our amazing burns camp program!

I’m running 90 5ks as we had 90 children on this list this year for camp, so it’s a run for each child. Please give generously as we are a self funded charity and everyone who helps us does so completely voluntarily ☺️

You can follow my daily runs on ‘Amy’s 5k a day for 90 days’ on Facebook!
