Story

Hello and thank you for visiting our justgiving page :)

On 9th April we took part in an event organised by Manchester RAG called LOST in aid of MAG International.  We daringly boarded a blacked out coach at 1:30am and were dropped off in a mysterious location.  That location was 9 miles from Newcastle on St.Mary's island.  We had to make our way to Newcastle to complete a number of challenges before moving on to York.  Once we had finished our challenges in York we had to make our way back to Manchester, and this was all without spending a penny on transport or on any of the challenges.  Some of the challenges we managed to complete were... climb the York Minster tower, have a nap in a bed shop, climb a tree, visit 7 pubs...
the transport we managed to blag was... a lift in a car (via hitchhiking) to Newcastle University, a bus from Newcastle to Durham, a train from Durham to York and a train from York to Manchester.  We came 8th in the race back and are awaiting the final results based on challenge points earned. You can find out more about our LOST adventure and see more photos on our facebook pages.

Although the event officially finished at midnight on 9th April we are still fundraising and welcoming any donations, so please keep on eye on our updates and help support MAG International.

MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is a charity dedicated to clearing the remnants of conflict for the benefit of communities worldwide.  They also work to educate people living in dangerous zones and contaminated areas in order to reduce the risk of injury and death.  In addition to this the charity release safe reclaimed land back to the local population.
MAG are also helping to tackle poverty worldwide by training and employing local people, in fact 90% of their 2300 staff are natives of the countries in which they work.
It truly is a fantastic charity which deserves a great deal of support, so please, please, please donate anything you can & for more information please visit www.maginternational.org

Every single day, 15 people are killed or injured because of landmines and other explosive weapons. Half of all civilian casualties are children. MAG finds and destroys these weapons to save lives and rebuild futures; helping people to grow crops, attend school and build homes.
