At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

We are holding a coffee morning on Cupcake Day - 14th June in aid of Alzheimer's Society. It's a cause close to many people's hearts and we feel it is a worthy cause to support. We're inviting anyone to come along for the morning, there will be coffee, cake and some local craft businesses as well.

Dementia devastates lives. Every three minutes someone develops dementia in the UK and there is currently no cure. Dementia is a disease that unfortunately will have touched most people at some point in their life.

We have chosen to raise money for Alzheimer's society as they provide help and support, not just to those diagnosed with dementia but also those who are affected by it, such as someone caring for a loved one with dementia. They also fund vital research to find new treatments and hopefully, one day, a cure.

Just £50 would pay for a communication tool that would enable someone with advanced dementia to communicate with symbols.

£150 would pay for 10 hours of support from one of the National Dementia Helpline Advisors for people affected by dementia.

Every little helps and we would be grateful for any donations made. All monies raised from the coffee morning will be donated to Alzheimer's Society.
