I'm hoping to raise money for Kidney Research UK's Go Purple appeal in march. This charity helps to fund vital research into kidney disease and dialysis which so many people, including myself suffer from in the UK.

I've suffered from chronic kidney disease for 14 years, and been on dialysis for 11, nearly 12 years, with a failed transplant 10 years ago. Being in hospital so much I have met so many people who are also in the same position as me, children and adults.

Transplants, like dialysis are not a cure but a treatment that only last a matter of time. This vital research helps to find ways of curing the disease and helping transplants last longer.

Last year I made badges and cakes to sell, and this year I wanted to go that bit further to hopefully raise whole lot more.

Once I have reached my target I will get a tattoo of a purple kidney.
