Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page

SDL Surveying are amazingly running 10k in Derby on April 7th to raise money and awareness for Myeloma UK.

Myeloma is a bone marrow cancer which attacks the immune system and the bones making people with this extremely weak and in pain but  with the right treatment can be kept at bay for years and people can still lead a normal life living with it.

It is a charity close to our heart as my father, David Phillips, was been diagnosed with Myeloma in November 2017. last year..he endured months of intense chemo treatment and a stem cell transplant to fight the disease. we were told he was in remission in June 2018 which unfortunately only lasted until February of this year and we were told it had returned and now needs to under go further intense treatment. As you can imagine, this is devastating news but can happen to so many Myeloma patients which is why its so important to keep the research going!

We need to raise as much money to help with the funding and research of the treatments and transplants as it is such an expensive cancer to battle... for example, one single transplant costs between £250k -£300k and for some people, like my dad, may need 2 of these.

A massive thank you in advance for all your sponsors, every single penny counts and goes directly to the charity and an even bigger shout out to the incredible people of  SDL surveying for running this and committing their time to raise money and run in the name of Myeloma and my dad  :)  xxxxx  Thank you xxxxx
