We've sourced more than 200 components to build a new state-of-the-art microscope! Give today to help us unlock the full potential of this powerful new discovery tool and change the way we see the world!

Story

Meet Marko Pende, Ph.D., a postdoctoral researcher in the Murawala lab at MDI Biological Laboratory. Marko investigates limb regeneration in axolotls, and this fall, with his colleagues in the Microscopy Core, is building a new microscope (mesoSPIM) It will be one of only four of its kind in the US - and will produce cleaner, brighter 3D images. This mesoSPIM will push the boundaries of science by allowing scientists to visualize and measure greater levels of detail than ever before and changing our understanding of how cells communicate and respond to injury or disease. Marko and his colleagues have worked tirelessly to collect more than 200 individual components in order to assemble our mesoSPIM from scratch. Now, there is only one remaining part to source -- the critical software package needed to unlock the full potential of this sophisticated scientific tool. We need YOUR help to raise $10,000 to purchase this final piece of the puzzle!
