Amy's Half Marathon for ADSHG

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2023 · 2 April 2023 ·
In April 2023 I will be running the London Landmark’s Half Marathon for the Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group Charity (ADSHG).
Addison’s disease is a rare endocrine condition where the adrenal glands cease to function, so that your body no longer produces enough of certain essential hormones, known as steroid hormones. The adrenal glands are small triangular shaped glands that sit on top of your kidneys. Their job is to produce the hormones that keep the body functioning properly.
As many of you will know, my mum was diagnosed with Addison’s Disease in 2021 which has been life changing for us all. ADSHG have been incredibly important in helping her come to terms with this condition and funds vital research in improving the treatment for this disease. I have seen first hand how this has impacted my mum’s life and the daily struggles that she has and wanted to raise awareness of this rare disease and the wonderful work that ADSHG do.
I am not a runner (yet!) but I am excited to take on this challenge and help support ADSHG and all the work they do for those with Addison’s Disease and Adrenal Insufficiency.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my Just Giving page and for any donations, I am so grateful ❤️
