I am doing a sponsored 10k walk at Hill of Tarvit in August to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. This money will help the nurses to continue providing care for terminally ill patients in the Fife area.

I sadly lost my Grandad on the 9th of July 2011, my Grandads wish was to be at home. The Marie Curie Nurse who came to his home to care for him was a lovely gentle person who expressed warmth and compassion. The support she was able to provide to my mum at a very emotional and difficult time was invaluable. This nurse also attended the funeral to pay her respects and our family were very touched.

I am taking part in this fundraising walk ten in my beloved Grandads memory. There will also be loved friends and family in my thoughts who have also battled and lost their fight with cancer. This walk will raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care so that the Marie Curie Nurses can continue to offer care to terminally ill patients in their homes or in Marie Curie hospices, while also giving support to the familiy of the individual.
