My Dad always told me to see the world. Throw yourself out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself. Nothing is out of your reach and you can achieve anything you want to achieve. 

Dad always wanted to sail around the world and following a huge heart attack in 2010 he planned his trip. A trip we never actually thought he would take. However, in 2012 he set off. He completed his dream of sailing through the Panama Canal in 2013 and he completed his circumnavigation of the globe in 2015. When Dad passed, we only found out how deeply routed this passion was. An old Army friend who he hadn’t seen in years asked if he ever got to sail around the world as, He had been banging on about doing it when he was in his 20’s. I am so pleased and so proud that he achieved his dream. So, when I had the opportunity to do this trek I had my Dads voice in my head saying,  do it Poppet, you’ll love every minute. (Not sure that’s entirely true) followed by, you can do anything you want to. So I am and I am doing it for him. 

Our group of Dorothy House heroes are taking on a twelve day trek and Hospice volunteering project. This challenge will help raise raise vital funds to support local patients and their families across a community of 550,000 people across Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES) and parts of Wiltshire and Somerset.The Dorothy House Nepal Trek in 2020 isnt just about pushing yourself physically, but also giving back. On the trip they will get to help at the hospice project in Kathmandu, with much needed restoration work before the enduring the Trek. Along the way they will be staying in tea houses walking over bridges and battling with lots of steep steps in aid of Dorothy House. Lets get behind them and support their training by donating today!
