Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to take part in The Great North Run in September which is another half marathon (my 4th in under a year.....(I'm either actually starting to enjoy exercise??!! or just plain mad)) and I need YOUR help (money) PLEEEEAAASE!!!
After a great deal of thought I decided I would like to run in support of the NSPCC, a charity that I have always heard of and known to be hugely important but since becoming a Mum seems that much closer to my heart.
The NSPCC is the leading children's charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. They help children who have been abused to rebuild their lives, protect those at risk, and find the best ways of preventing abuse from ever happening.
When I look at my beautiful little boy I sometimes feel completely overwhelmed by how much I love him. Every minute of every day is pretty much spent playing games, being the tickle monster, snuggling up watching CBeebies and singing countless renditions of "let it go" and all whilst making sure he is kept safe, fed, watered, clean and happy. Don't get me wrong we have had a few bumps and falls (and I usually cry way more than Harry when he hurts himself) but the thought of a child being hurt physically or emotionally, on the most part by those who are supposed to thier biggest protectors, both sickens me and makes me incredibly sad. It's heartbreaking and extremely hard to think about the type of pain innocent children are put through and I feel compelled to do my bit and support the NSPCC which I hope will in a small way make a difference.
So I'm going to stand up for these children, the ones who are not as fortunate as mine and yours, so they can have a better future and I'm going to to this by running/jogging/walking and probably crawling 13.1 miles way up North on the 13th September! I would be so grateful if you could support me in any way. Donations would be great as I so badly want to reach my target, any messages of support also appreciated and if you really want to support me then I've heard Newcastle is particularly nice that time of year! Whatever you can do will make a difference and go towards making sure every child has the childhood they deserve.
Thanks for reading......it's only taken me 5 hours to write, anyone who has or ever had a 2 year old will understand!!! Next, to see if baby wipes will take the blue biro off the wall whilst leaving the paint in tact before Mark gets home!!
Love Amy x
