Running for tree planting in Ghana · 28 February 2022

Denyigba Lorlor are planting trees in schools and households in the Keta Municipality, Ghana. They plant a mixture of native trees that provide numerous benefits to communities in Ghana. Can you work with us to increase tree cover in Ghana?

Story

Throughout March, April and May, me and four other friends will be running the equivalent of the length of Ghana, 458km, to raise money for Dream Big Ghana Foundation and their Ghanaian partner NGO, Denyigba Lorlor. Denyigba plant trees in the Volta region of Ghana that provide food, income, shade and cool for the environment as well as offering educational opportunities for students. Planting trees is also a key way in which we can tackle the climate crisis as trees absorb carbon dioxide from the environment. So far, Denyigba have planted over 11,000 trees and are planting an additional 2500 in 2022. The tree species they plant include coconut, mango, cashew, cassia, acacia, guava and salsap. Would you be able to help us increase the number of trees planted in Ghana? Any donations are very much appreciated, thank you!
