RISE 8K Undercliff Run For Women 2021 · 3 October 2021

On the 3rd October 2021 RISE's 8K Women's Run along the Saltdean Undercliff Path is back. A beautiful, unique location and an event for women only. Raising awareness and funds for RISE, a domestic abuse charity in Brighton and Hove.

Story

Last year I was unable to walk even a short distance without getting out of breath let alone run due to a thyroid infection. I'm now feeling great and getting back to running.

As most of you know I am a huge advocate for women's rights, health and well-being. So I couldn't think of a better local charity that I would like to support and fundraise for. Also knowing I have the challenge of running 8k is helping me to improve my health and wellbeing.

RISE is a Brighton based domestic violence and abuse charity that has worked for 26 years to end all forms of violence and abuse against women, their families and those identifying as LGBTQ+. RISE stands for Refuge, Information, Support and Education; our strategic mission is: freedom from abuse and violence. We reach across Brighton & Hove, providing wrap-around services for adults and children on their recovery journey, following experiences of domestic abuse. Our essential services include specialist one-to-one therapy, therapeutic survivor groups, an LGBTQ+ refuge, work with children and families, as well as community engagement projects.
