Great Wall of China Trek 2016 · 15 October 2016 to 24 October 2016 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In October this year, I will be spending six consecutive days trekking along part of the Great Wall of China in order to raise funds to support people to live well with dementia as well as fund research to try and find a cure.

Dementia can happen to anyone and there's currently no cure.  There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK and the number is set to rise to 1 million by 2021.

The Alzheimer's Society believes that life doesn't end when dementia begins.  All donations, no matter how small, will help towards either supporting a person who is already living with dementia or their carers or looking for a cure for future generations.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
