In 2020 I welcome a ‘milestone’ Birthday – my 40^th in July. I had planned to take part in 4 challenges over 4 consecutive months in the run up to the big day, but all the challenges were cancelled / postponed due to Covid-19.

I am determined to complete a challenge in the run up to my 40th and as of Wednesday 3 June I pledge to run or walk every distance from 1km to 40km over 40 consecutive days. This will amount to a total 820km with an average of roughly 140km a week.

I am raising funds for Crossroads Care South East London (CCSEL), a wonderful charity that offers a range of services to unpaid carers of children, adults and older people with support needs across Bexley, Greenwich, Lewisham and surrounding areas. In my cover photo I am with the formidable CEO of CCSEL - Darren Tobin.

This local charity has seen their income reduced during the coronavirus outbreak, but an increased demand for their key services to unpaid carers & older people. Your donation will help this wonderful local charity continue their essential work with carers & older people to give them both practical and emotional support during this time that will make a real difference to their lives.
