Story
Classic. Elegant. Smart. Kind. Generous. Tough. BEAUTIFUL.
Some words I think we all can agree describe our dear aunt Debby, who's life was taken early FAR too early by what she called "a horrid diease"-- Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).
This rare parkensonian-like syndrome slowly took away her ability to walk, talk, laugh, hug, eat and eventually breath. Watching someone you love physically slip away is special kind of torture that no one should ever have to endure. Throughout her diagnosis and decline, however, her mind remained sharp, always gazing at us with will and determination. A quality that carried her through many years of struggle. Her spirit was the ultimate definition of mind over matter...a spirit i hope to embody as I run my first ever race--the Shape-Health Women's half marathon on 4/10/2022. In honor of aunt Debby. In honor of all those struggling with PSP and all those taking care of them. If you believe in the human spirit--DONATE.
Thank you in advance for your love and support,
Anate
