Sunrise Walk Richmond 2022 · 29 May 2022 ·

Our Richmond 10km and 20km walk is ideal for families with young children due to the mostly flat terrain, takes participants past famous sights including the River Thames, Hampton Court and the beautiful and wildlife packed Bushy and Richmond Parks.

Story

We are the Thurston family plus a fantastic group of wonderful friends, who have decided, for the 6th year (sadly missing 2 years because of the pandemic), to get up at 3am on the 29th May 2022, children and adults alike, and walk 20km through beautiful South West London. We are doing this in memory of our beautiful Anders, who we lost 11 years ago, we miss every day and we always will.

During this difficult time, and ever since, the support we have received from Shooting Star Children's Hospices has been an unquantifiable lifeline for us. This walk, and all the money that we hope to raise in doing it, is also our thank you to them.

What makes the walk particularly special is that Anders's friends will be taking part. It's the sixth amazing year that we will embark on this journey together, and the 7th for Anders's twin brother Stefan. For 20km we will talk, laugh, cry, play word games, chat about sport and video games and everything else under the dawn sun, and most of all we will think of Anders, who will be beside us all the way.

This year more than ever, Shooting Star Children's Hospices need every penny you can spare in order to continue to provide the incredible service they do to very ill children and their families. Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.  We appreciate everything that you are able to give, no matter how small.
