4 challenges in 4 weeks to support my amazing NHS colleagues!

Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes Challenge · 5 October 2020 to 1 November 2020 ·
This year has been a pretty tough one. Our lives have been turned completely upside down. Throughout this time I have had the honour to work alongside the most amazing and inspiring NHS colleagues, who have been relentless in their dedication and commitment to making a difference to our patients. They’ve worked extra hours, been redeployed to new teams, looked out for each other and have really gone the extra mile to make sure that people in mental health crisis or needing urgent physical healthcare in the community got the support they needed, regardless of everything going on.
Inspired by them, I’ve decided to give this challenge a go and raise a few quid to support them so they can continue helping others. I also want to use this as an opportunity to kickstart some self care (not a priority when you’re an exhausted mum). So my four challenges in four weeks will include:
Week 1 Heads - Make some photo albums. Something I’ve been meaning to do for years but have constantly found excuses to put off. If nothing else these times have reminded us what’s most important - family and friends! These albums will be a great chance to reflect on happy memories and make plans for new ones.
Week 2 Shoulders - Swim 160 lengths. Most I’ve ever managed in a single session is 40...
Week 3 Knees - 3hours of Bounce exercise classes! Yup that’s going to hurt...
Week 4 Toes - 10,000 steps plus per day ending in a 5km run at the weekend. I’m not a runner, never have been and not sure I’m cut out for it, but want to give it a go!
So if you fancy sponsoring me that would be fab, equally if you’re not able to, any words of encouragement or advice (particularly in relation to the running bit) would be much appreciated! Even better... why not join me for 1, 2 or all 4 of the challenges and start to prioritise self care more too!
