Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As the parent of a daughter with ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition), I feel it is important that charities that promote the welfare, education and care of affected families, from childhood through to adulthood, are supported.
Autism Anglia is a well-established charity (with over 40 years experience), local to myself, that endeavours to raise not only the awareness of this condition, but to provide a range of services aimed at enabling those with autism to lead as independent a life as possible, whilst being as active and inclusive within the community they live as they are able.
To this end, I am committed to several months of blisters and exhaustion as preparation for a 9 day trek across China, following the path of the Great Wall (sometimes along the established winding track of the Wall itself, but oftentimes off route into the landscapes beyond, where the tourists fear to tread!) Days will consist of up to 14km treks, hundreds of weather-worn steps and all upon the fiercely undulating and vertiginous contours around one of the seven wonders of the world....I just hope my skinny little legs can take the strain....
Any support you can offer, be it the change in your pocket or more if you are able, will be greatly appreciated and will help those with ASC to receive specialist services to enable them to become as fully integrated into their communities as possible.
Thank you, in advance of your aid.
Andre Vermaut.
