Ealing Half Marathon 2018 · 30 September 2018 ·

We raise money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. From funding state-of-the-art equipment and ground-breaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.

Story

Thank you for visiting our Justgiving page. Please help us to raise money for the Royal Marsden Charity. The Actuarial Team wanted to do something in memory of our friend and colleague, Stephen Rice, who sadly passed away last year, after a battle with cancer. Stephen was so supportive and encouraged us to push ourselves. He also had a remarkable sense of humour. For these reasons we felt it was fitting to undertake something both challenging and fun - so that's why you see yourself on our Justgiving page for the Ealing half-marathon which takes place on 30th September this year, around the anniversary of Stephen's death.

We have chosen this charity because the Royal Marsden tried tirelessly to help Stephen during his illness. Stephen's family have told us how they were helped enormously by the kindness of the staff there. The Royal Marsden undertakes numerous research programmes aimed at improving treatment and success rates and requires funds to undertake this important work. Please therefore support us (Lisa, Andrea, Thulasie and Paul) in any way that you can to raise funds for this worthwhile cause.

Training tips will also be gratefully accepted. Please note we are more responsive to carrots than sticks!

Each week, we'll post an update (in the form of an excel chart - you can tell we're actuaries) to let you know how far we've run in training so you can see how we're getting on. Please see the pictures below.
