Our life-changing research can fight diseases, tackle global challenges and change society. At Nottingham, students from all backgrounds can achieve extraordinary things, in and out of the classroom. But talent needs a catalyst. You can shape the future and help make the incredible happen, every day

Story

We are colleagues working in the School of Medicine, University of Nottingham.  Neither of us is a Bradley Wiggins or a Victoria Pendleton and  so cycling 170 miles in 3 days over hilly terrain will be a challenge for both of us.

This however pales into insignificance when compared to the personal challenge faced by those suffering from dementia and the families that witness their loved ones struggle with this disease.  We hope a little bit of pain on our part will have huge gains by raising charitable funds to support Nottingham's world-leading research into earlier diagnosis and improved treatment for dementia.  Your support in raising funds will be included as part of the Nottingham Life Cycle 5 campaign which aims to raise £350,000 to apply the University's world-leading expertise in MRI scanning to the study of dementia and other degenerative conditions of the brain.

As part of our fund raising efforts we are organising cycle rides, walks, a treasure hunt, a golf charity event, cake bakes and more.  Get in touch with one of us if any of these events interest you to find out more. Otherwise please donate via this page.
