Anybody who knows me will appreciate that I love to travel/have a passion for exploring and seeing the world. Over the last 8 years, I have travelled and worked in several amazing countries which have given me some real eye-opening experiences along the way...

My experience in Ecuador - my most challenging journey yet; has led me to enroll in running the Virtual London Marathon. (I hope to complete in The French Alps).

The purpose is to raise as much money as I can, all to go towards future projects for the Camps Foundation which is spread across South America, Africa and South-East Asia.

This is a charitable organisation devoted to making the world a better place through various humanitarian, conservation and environmental initiatives developed and run by the Camps International Group. I hope to raise, with your help, some much-needed pennies as I have led groups for them, and I know what a positive effect it will have.

I spent part of summer 2019 in South America, along with 14 incredible students - living, helping and learning just how people from much less well-off countries live.

Throughout our time travelling in Ecuador, we worked on several projects including building/installing ‘dry’ toilet blocks as a way to conserve water, reforestation in camp Kuri Kucho, the highest altitude camp in the Amazon rainforest, school improvements and building a communal kitchen for the residents of Don Biki and also several beach cleans. However; one of the most rewarding and heart warming experiences, was learning each community's local dance routine and watching the locals laugh in hysterics at our efforts to learn!

Unfortunately, Summer 2020 had different ideas for most of the world - like many others, my plans to travel to Kenya along with 30 students to work on projects to improve the local communities were cancelled.

So...My way of helping this year is going to be running! This will be my first marathon - something I have always said I have wanted to do. I am excited, nervous and ready to take on the challenge!
