Hi Everyone 

For the past 8 years I’ve been lucky enough to get a number for the Great North Run and this year I’m raising money for a charity that has helped so much with my friend Emma’s care

This year didn’t get off to a good start at all as Emma was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia

This was a huge shock to all who know and love her and a very worrying time as she was extremely ill and had many complications during and after her treatment 

Emma has been an absolute inspirational woman throughout her illness and has faced it all with such dignity and strength 

I’m so happy to say that Emma is in remission and we are all so very proud of her and admire her so much for the way she has fought this illness

Bright Red Charity is close to Emma’s heart and therefore close to mine 

So my effort in this years Great North Run is for this charity as they have given care and support to Emma and made this year a bit brighter as Emma is recovering well and is busy planning her wedding for next year with her amazing supportive Fiancé Rob who has been her rock

Bright Red aims to improve the lives and treatment of people with blood cancer across the north of England. Through care, research and education they are striving to beat illnesses such as leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, myelodysplasia and myeloproliferative diseases.Every pound raised through the 2019 Great North Run helps them fight blood cancer for a brighter future.
