Trek Machu Picchu 2019

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page and for considering to help such a good cause.
My name is Andreas Polydorides and I'm a 2nd year Biomedical Engineering undergraduate at Imperial College London. While looking for ways to get involved with charity and give something back to the community, I came across this fundraising opportunity by The Little Things.
The Little Things is a student-led charity that provides medical equipment to under-resourced hospitals and medical centres in developing countries. Their work ensures that these facilities can cope with the amount of vulnerable people in need admitted daily. It is run purely by volunteers and so none of the proceeds go towards staff salaries like other organizations.
Having seen the results of their work and the feedback from the local doctors, I decided to get involved with their events. For the past 3 years, The Little Things organise a grueling annual 8-day summer group hike of Machu Picchu in Peru. The total money raised by all participants from this specific event will go to the renovation of the paediatric unit of Gulu Regional Referral Hospital in Northern Uganda, greatly helping them deal with the large number of children admitted daily.
Each participant must raise a total of £2,600 to be allowed to take part. All donations made go directly to The Little Things, and so even if participants do not meet the target the money raised will still be helping children in need.
It is my belief that everyone should have access to healthcare regardless of their socio-economic background and each and every one of us has an obligation to improve this world. Any amount will go a long way towards helping these children, the only small and insignificant amount is the one you didn't donate.
Thank you so much for your support,
Andreas
