Rickshaw Run · 7 April 2012

CIAS is a voluntary organisation formed in 1980 for the primary purpose of assisting in the saving of lives at sea. It provides a rapid response search capability in the 4,000 square miles of water surrounding the Channel Islands and the adjacent French coast.

Story

For this years relaxed holiday I’ve entered a team of 4 into the Rickshaw run. This involves a 2 week race starting the 7 April driving a luxurious rickshaw the length of India from Cochin in the South to Shillong in the North covering a minimum of 2075miles. There’s no route other than where to start/finish, there’s no back up vehicles, pretty much no comfort and as the website http://www.theadventurists.com/ says:

‘Your chance of dying is significantly increased for the duration of your time partaking in the adventure.’

This is a charity event so I’m asking you to please put your hands in pockets find some change or better notes email me what you find and help me raise a bit of money Channel Islands Air Search and Frank Water Projects (all monies raised will go to charity and not my holiday fund) or I can pass you my bank details and you can just pay electronically.

Thanks in advance

Andy Alford
