It is estimated that as many as 15million children die or remain severely ill every year through potentially treatable or preventable cardiac diseases. Chain of Hope exists to provide children from developing countries affected by life-threatening heart disease with the treatment to save their lives

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our Justgiving page!

On 29th September, to coincide with 'World Heart Day', and to keep the memory of our beautiful sister-in-law, Vanessa Garside, alive and well, a group of us are taking part in a 13km sponsored walk/run in and around the beautiful city of London.

For those who didn't know her, Vanessa worked as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Not many people also knew that Vanessa had heart problems too, and she sadly died of heart failure in December last year.

With your help, we want to raise loads of money to support 'Chain of Hope', an amazing charity that was very close to Vanessa's heart. She took part in a number of missions to Jamaica as part of the medical team treating children with life-threatening heart disease. You can find out all about their superb work by following the links on this page.

Our aim is to raise approximately £2,500 to help set up a training scholarship in Vanessa's name, SO PLEASE DIG DEEP and donate as much or as little as you can to help this worthy cause!

Thank you so much for your support....Andrew & Sarah....xxx
