Story

EK Old Parish church are supporting Christian Aid in a different way this year. People are working in teams to complete a challenge personal to them - “My Marathon”. Some people are walking, others running doing what they can, or the equivalent of a marathon form 1st to 22nd May.

Team Broon are raising funds for this amazing charity too. Instead of a marathon, I will be cycling from Edinburgh to Glasgow on 14th May, and Tracy will be walking as much as she can working towards the 26 mile marathon target

Everyone is equal in the sight of God. Yet we live in a world where poverty still persists.Poverty is an outrage against humanity. It robs people of their dignity and lets injustice thrive. But together we have the power to transform lives. For over 70 years, we’ve been standing with the poorest of our neighbours. We work in 37 countries, with people of all faiths and none, to stand up for dignity, equality and justice. We stand together with our global neighbours. Together we can create a world where everyone can live.

We work with churches, individuals and local organisations in communities worldwide, supporting people of all faiths and none to rise out of poverty. We help people survive disasters, deal with the impact of climate change, find shelter from conflict and have a voice in their communities.
