Do you remember 4th August 2012: it’s the greatest date in British sporting history
Do you remember First Jessica Ennis realised her Olympic dream taking gold in the heptathlon and then Mo Farah stormed to victory in the 10,000 metres in the race of his life. A day where the British Olympic team claimed six gold medals - three of them in the 80,000-capacity Stadium to unprecedented scenes of delirious joy.
I remember that day very clearly. It started so positively with my wife and myself looking forward to an meal out and watching the Olympics later that evening. Like us, the whole country was in awe of the Olympics and life was good, but reality struck home............
We got the news my wife’s cousins little girl Lauren had passed away aged just 5.
Lauren - beautiful and fun, full of life at our wedding only 2 years earlier and an amazing little girl who left a mark on us all instantly. She passed away that day, after a long fight against a brain tumor. These things simply should not happen! The hospital that treated her were nothing short of fantastic and Lauren herself was amazing. The Royal Marsden research cancers and treat up to 40000 patients a year.
I’m going to run 2 HALF MARATHONS in September and October. These being the Great North Run in September 2013 and the Great Birmingham Run in October 2013 in aid of the Royal Marsden.
Please Help me to help them keep supporting patients and to fight these ongoing cancers .
Please dig deep, Your donation and support are really very much appreciated
