Story
Adrian Callan was one of only 20 Scots who managed to break the magical 4 minute barrier for the mile and was the last to do so on home soil. He was also a rarity in that he excelled as a school boy athlete and managed to carry this through to senior athletics. Adrian represented Scotland on many occasions over track, road and cross country.
In 2004 he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Through out the next 2 and a half years Adrian astonished medical staff and family with his courage, strength and determination that he had became synonymous with during his athletic career. Very sadly, Adrian died on the 16th of January 2007, leaving his wife Lara and his three daughters Adelina, Rhian and Nadia.
Adrian was a fantastic athlete, a true gentleman, but above all a family man.
Adrian's friends and family will be taking part in this years Cycle Glasgow on Sunday the 15th of August. The event starts in Kelvingrove Park at 10am. All money raised will be donated to The Paul O'Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre.
