I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes some 20 years ago. Living with diabetes is complicated and many people feel overwhelmed by it and avoid doing things they would like to. 

I have had good medical support and I am quite belligerent but it is the technology that makes it easier to do things like running this ultramarathon. 

The research that JDRF fund is crucial to making living with diabetes easier for more people. If the money you donate helps JDRF develop technology and treatments that help one person do something they found daunting, then the terror I now feel at the prospect of running twice as far as I ever have will have been worthwhile.
