Story

Welcome to the Reach Studios fundraising campaign on behalf of the Sick Children’s Trust.

This year on the 2nd June, the Reach team will be taking on The Yorkshire Three Peak challenge. A distance of 24 miles and an average 12-hour day taking on Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. We have our walking boots at the ready and plenty of training planned between now and then!

Our goal is to raise a target of £10K for the Sick Children’s Trust and to help support their vision of providing free homes from home, and keeping families together during long hospital stays.

Some of you will know from Andrews’s Linked-in posts towards the end of last year that his daughter Peggy was taken ill and unfortunately ended up in ICU for a long period of time. During this time, the Sick Children’s Trust managed to put Andrew & Laura up with accommodation and basic amenities for 44 days so they could be by her side throughout.

Luckily Peggy made a full recovery and everything is back to normal, this is our way of saying thanks and giving back to the Sick Children’s Trust by helping raise as much as we can so that other families can benefit from their support in the future.

We will be updating our fundraising story as we train and prepare so be sure to check back on how we are getting on in the lead-up to completing the challenge n the 2nd June.

About the charity

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.
