Story
this year I'm running the manchester 10k and also cycling from London to Paris to raise money for Francis house in memory of our daughter Sadie Collins. Francis house is an amazing place. they offer help, support and respite to families with children with life limiting illnesses. the support they gave us throughout Sadie's short life was amazing. I know times are hard but even the smallest donation will help to keep Francis house running and will be gratefully received. cheers.
This year I will be running the Manchester 10k in May and cycling from London To Paris in July. I will be doing both events in memory of our beautiful daughter Sadie who passed away in Sept 2010 when she was only 8 months old.
When Sadie arrived in December 2009 and we were told 24hrs later that she had a terminal condition called Edwards Syndrome. Throughout the 8.5 months that Sadie bravely enjoyed her time with us, Francis House Children's Hospice supported us every step of the way and continue to do so. No one ever expects to hear such devastating news about their baby, but sadly, our story repeats itself daily and we hope that other families receive the same incredible support that we did to help them make the most of their time with their child and to ensure comfort, peace and dignity for our children.
Now it's time for us to ensure that Francis House continue to support families like ours. Francis House running costs are over £3 million per year. I'm hoping that through this challenge I can give back something to a place that gave us so much.
