At first I was just going to do this Lions Club-organised 26 mile cycle trek in the Forest of Dean as a personal challenge. Last year over 800 people took part with the entry fee raising money for local charities.

Then Marcus, a friend of mine contacted me and suggested an added dimension - involving raising funds for his WhizzKids United work in Africa. This was an opportunity I just couldn't ignore. WhizzKids United (AFRICAID) is an AIDS education charity in Ghana which uses football as a medium for educating the young people there about healthy lifestyles.
