Story

I am planning to run some races over 10k and 10miles in 2020. I was diagnosed with a brain tumour back in May 2016 and had 10months of initial treatment. I still have the brain tumour but while I am no longer requiring treatment I need regular reviews. I wanted to try to raise as much money as I can doing something I enjoy, like running which has helped me to get through the last few years.

I am normally a track runner but am going to push myself with some longer races and have entered some races in Europe to add to the challenge.

Race 1 is in the Longleat Estate in the UK in February

Race 2 is along the streets of Geneva (Switzerland) over 10k in May-----CANCELLED------

-------AS THE GENEVA 10K IS NOW CANCELLED.  I NOW HAVE A NEW IDEA TO RUN THE 10K ON SATURDAY 9TH MAY------------------------------

*** Race 2- will now be me running 10k around my balcony in Llandaff. If i run around the edges of the balcony it is 10m in total. This will therefore require me to do roughly 1000 laps. ***

Race 3 - Is running the Dam Tot Damloop race over 16k (10mile) course around Amsterdam (The Nederlands) on September 20th 2020----------CANCELLED--------

-----------------AS DAM TOT DAMLOOP RACE HAS BEEN CANCELLED. I NOW HAVE A NEW MULTI RUN CHALLENGE WHICH WILL START ON TUESDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER------------------------------------------------------------

***Challenge 3 will start on 1st September. The plan is that i will attempt to run a ParkRun and or 5K equivalent every day for 16 days (as i was due to run 16k in a one off event). The plan is to challenge myself further by doing more than just a one off event, As a track runner I only tend to run 2-3 days in a row, so 16 days straight will be a major new task for me. I will plan to head out and run this distance every day. This will require me running 80,000m or 50 miles in total. I am hoping to outline where I will be running and the time I am due to start. I will focus on running the Cardiff/Blackweir ParkRun course, however I will also do other courses or run 5k in different locations in Cardiff, this is to help prevent boredom and maintain my motivation. I am hoping that if i advertise where/when i will be running each day that people local to Cardiff can join in for part or all the 5k. I am hoping to raise not only money for charity but also to raise and start to develop the community culture of running in a small way after all the lockdown and lack of ParkRuns.
