I am taking up the challenge of cycling 145 miles from Barnsley to Amsterdam on 1-3 June 2018! I’m doing this in association with Prostate Cancer UK's Football to Amsterdam challenge backed by The English Football League and the League Managers Association. The whole purpose of the challenge is to raise funds and awareness to beat a disease that kills one man every 45 minutes.
Prostate Cancer UK is a charity that’s very close to my heart. A few years ago my father came to me and said the words that no one ever wants to hear “Son I’ve got cancer”. As you can imagine your mind starts racing with all sorts running through your head. You immediately start thinking the worst which doesn’t even bare thinking about, you wonder how are you going to get through it and beat this horrible disease? It goes down as one of the saddest days of my life.
Having been with him through the whole treatment process and watched him fight and beat this horrible disease, I can safely say without the fantastic support from Prostate Cancer UK, along with family and friends, we wouldn’t of got through this without them. The support from Prostate Cancer UK through the whole process was amazing. Sadly my dad has since passed away, so I’m doing this in his memory to help raise vital funds.
All funds raised can go towards life changing research that can help towards one day eliminating this horrible disease; and also supporting other families like mine at their time of need.
Thank you for taking the time to visit the page and for any
donation that you can make – every penny counts.
Thanks very much.
