Story

I really don’t know how this happened but at a recent fund raiser for Bury  hospice I kind of got pushed into signing up for strictly best foot forward 2019!!

It is a charity I have supported over the years having had first hand experience of the hospice and it’s work . 18 years ago my Mother in law Mari spent the last few weeks of her life at the old hospice which was on Dumers Lane and it’s there that she sadly lost her fight against cancer. The care that all the staff gave her was second to none. As a family we will be forever grateful for everything they did for her, from sitting in and chatting , doing the crossword with her, caring and attending to Mari’s needs down to  helping us plan a special visit were one of Mari’s beloved cats was brought in . These little things mean so much to make those final days more bearable not only for the patients but for all of us as a family .

The hospice has for the last few years run from its new site and the facilities there are first class, donations to keep the beds running are desperately needed .  Please if you could give to this amazing charity then do so any amount will be gratefully received no matter how big or small. It costs £2.56million to run Bury Hospice 2018/9.The Hospice only receives 25% of this amount from the government.Every donation helps the Hospice:£12 will feed a patient for a day.£35 will cover a physiotherapy session.£50 will support two bereavement sessions.
