I'm doing the Great North Swim in September in a rash, final stab to hold on to last vestiges of my youth. As a mid-life crisis, it's cheaper than a sports car.

It will be painful, but the dawn training sessions have hurt a lot more.

I'm not doing it just for me, I'm also doing it for Cancer Research. I lost two Grandparents to cancer and dearly wish they'd lived long enough to see my baby boy.
