Last year I represented the Mission to Seafarers in the London Marathon and thanks to friends and business associates raised over £3000.

This month I was planning to once again run the London Marathon but this time just for fun! However the Covid 19 crisis means that this is now deferred until the autumn.

I am thankful that so far Covid 19 for me personally is no more than a disruption to my usual routines. However for many it has a far greater impact and for those of us in a position to help physically or financially now is a time to shine.

There are so many deserving causes but I have been asked by Mission to Seafarers to be an Ambassador for their fundraising initiative entitled Global Champions Unite which is a challenge to raise £60,000 in 90 days by some physical challenge whilst in lockdown and social distancing.

Inspired by the Proclaimers I have decided to challenge myself to run 500 miles in the next 90 days (2nd April to 1st July), which should take me through to the beginning of my training for the rescheduled London Marathon which will require me to run close to 500 more.
