I am really nervous about trying to raise £2000 - it seems a ridiculously large amount of money for one person who isn't famous or swimming the channel/Thames etc, so this year I am more grateful than ever to all who can find a couple of pounds or more.

Also, it will feel quite fitting running past the offices where John spent most of his working life, and to give myself an added impteus I am trying, perhaps unrealisitically, to give myself the chance of running under four hours for the first time ever.

Whether I achieve it or not, I want you to know in advance how much I appreciate your kindness and generosity.
