Lands End to John O' Groats on Swaz's Brompton

Hi everyone thanks for visiting!
You are likely here because you are family of mine or Jimmy's or you were lucky enough to be one of Jimmy's friends or colleagues.
For those visiting that didn't know Jimmy (Swaz); he passed away suddenly in 2017 at the age of 38, which left a whacking great void in the lives of so many of his family and friends. He was loved by so many and I imagine not a day goes by without a reminder of how he brought such a huge amount of fun and laughter to us all on every single interaction. This event is in memory of Swaz.
Why?
I have always wanted to cycle this journey and I thought this would be a great way to honour our friend’s memory by riding it on his bike. It's also a great opportunity to raise £10,000 for our chosen charity, The Faraway Children's Charity.
The FCC support children and young people in the most deprived areas of Northants with all charitable donations going directly to help children who are most disadvantaged. Please check out their website and their amazing work here.

What?
I will be riding the 924 miles from Lands End to John O' Groats on Swaz's old Brompton folding bike. Brought back from the South of Spain by Sue and Peter Swallow and kindly loaned to me for the training and the event.
Happily Swaz 'threw some cash at it' and purchased the 6 speed option which will come in handy. If you haven't seen or heard of Brompton before, its a folding commuter bike with little 16 inch wheels, ideal for loading onto trains etc. Please google Brompton.com for more of an idea.
I will be expertly supported by Jimmy’s brother in law Archer and old friend Peter H.
When?
If Covid restrictions are favourable in both England and Scotland; the event will take place between the 21st June to 27th June 2021.
This is a fairly punchy time frame, averaging over 130 miles per day on the bike, so training has commenced with the expert guidance of Paul H an old friend and colleague and helpfully a strength and conditioning coach.
Anyone Fancy joining?
Jimmy had such a huge network of great family, friends and work friends, making this an amazing opportunity to raise the target amount of £10,000 and maybe beyond 🙏🏻
Sam S, another of James's old friends from CBRE is getting stuck in with the fundraising and we are really keen to raise as much for the Faraway Children's Charity as possible, a charity that has been supported by friends and family before. If anyone wants to join the ride for any part of the journey no matter how small, then it would be great to have you join and keep my mind off the miles!
Join me on a day's ride or a leg if we pass through your town? Or from Inverness for the last phase? Please see my route here: (Copy and paste)
