For the next 11 months I and the crew of Unicef, together with all the race crews, are taking on the challenge of the world’s oceans in the Clipper Round The World yacht race (www.clipperroundtheworld.com) to raise awareness of the work of Unicef. I personally will be sailing Legs 3,4,6 and 7 of the race which includes the Southern Ocean, the Sydney Hobart Race, the North Pacific and the Americas and Panama. Unicef is the worlds leading children’s organisation providing food, vaccinations, education and protection in over 190 countries around the world including every country on the Clipper race route (www.unicef.org.uk). 

• In 2014 Unicef responded to 294 humanitarian situations in 98 countries to help keep children safe

• Unicef vaccinates over one third of the worlds children

• Unicef provides 80% of the world’s lifesaving emergency food.

For the period of the 10th edition of the race we are gifting our sponsorship to Unicef and acting as their ambassadors around the world holding events in each port - Rio, Cape Town, Albany, Sydney, Hobart, Whitsundays, Da Nang, Qingdao, Seattle, Panama, New York, Londonderry, Den Helder and London.
