Thames rowing: Richmond to Sunbury and back · 23 June 2018

The Salters’ Institute, founded in 1918, is one of the country’s leaders in the field of chemistry education. It aims to promote the appreciation of chemistry and related sciences among the young, and to encourage careers in the teaching of chemistry and in the UK chemical and allied industries.

Story

As a member of the Salters I want to do my bit to help raise funds for their main charity, the Salters Institute.  The Salters' Institute (https://www.saltersinstitute.co.uk) does great things to support science appreciation and education in the UK, including curriculum development, chemistry festivals for 11-13 year-olds of all backgrounds, and awards for A level students, university undergraduates and school science technicians. The Institute are looking to expand their activities in this, their centenary year, and the rowing event is one of many activities arranged by the Salters. I am determined to stay the course, but am very happy to say that our son Alex, now a student and rower at Oxford, will be joining me to provide much needed skill and power!
