THE LONG STAND

As Cadets and Adult Volunteers from Banbury Jordan Detachment, Oxfordshire ACF, we give up our Saturdays every year to support the local Royal British Legion team in raising money for the Poppy Appeal.  In the age of Covid-19, however, selling poppies in person is not an option.

As a Detachment, we have decided that we still want to give the Poppy Appeal our time on Sat 7 Nov.  We are seeking sponsorship to spend a total of 11 hours stood in our own gardens, in uniform, whatever the weather.  The rules are easy, we stand in one hour shifts and provide photo evidence, sitting is allowed at meal times (outdoors) and toilet breaks are allowed - the same as when we're selling Poppies in Banbury town centre.  Our target amount of £1115.85 represents how much we raised in a single day last year, we hope to do even better this time!
