Hi my name is Andrew Read .
In January 2017 I joined the incredible running club Running4CF. I hadn’t run much before this but enjoyed getting to know people and enjoyed getting more into running. I also turned 40 in the same year
but then on the 24th April my life changed for ever when I was diagnosed with a benign brain tumour (acoustic neuroma)...... what a 40th birthday present that was
After an operation to remove the tumour on the 22nd May 2017 the club was unbelievably supportive to me in my recovery. The people I’ve met (my running family!) are all so inspirational and have given me so much confidence and encouragement over the years to make me into the runner I am today - and have been a tremendous distraction to what I have been, and still am going through.
Not only is this club about meeting incredible people - friends for life, we also raise much needed funds and awareness for The Cystic Fibrosis Trust
Some of the challenges the running club members have put themselves through over the years are not only inspiring but also heart warming - and it's good to know that people care for other people; for those that need it the most.
I feel one of the lucky ones and I’m doing things that I never thought would be possible - and much of that is down to the incredible honest friendly people I’ve met at Running4CF
So in 2021 I’ve decided to set my self a massive challenge.
12IN12 4CF........
12 marathons in 12 months to repay the brilliant incredible support I’ve received from Running4CF over the past years
Anything is possible when you put you’re mind to it
Positive thinking positive outcome

Currently, half of those with CF will not live past age 41.The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is fighting for a brighter future for people with CF and their families by funding cutting-edge research, driving up standards of care and supporting people with the condition and their loved ones every step of the way.
